Frank P. Amantia

Having amassed more than 34 years of management experience in the financial services industry, Frank began his career with Bank of America’s Financial Services Division in 1977, progressing to management positions with Manufacturer’s Hanover, City Federal S&L, Mellon Bank, Chevy Chase Bank, and others.

Shortly after being awarded the Small Business Administration’s Financial Services Advocate of the Year Award, he formed an affiliate to the financial services company that he formed in 1994, Community Mortgage and Investment Corp., by the name of Commercial Capital Group, Ltd., which specialized in Commercial and Government Guaranteed Business Loans (SBA & USDA). In addition, during this time, he held one of only two Loan Packager positions recognized by the US Small Business Administration’s Washington, DC Division Office.
As President/CEO and a Member of the Board of Mid-Atlantic Financial Partners LLC (MAFP), which he formed in 2003, he has managed the origination, underwriting, funding and servicing of more than $100 million dollars in commercial & business loans and loan participations to date.

While maintaining his position as President/CEO of MAFP, he was asked to assume the role of SVP/Chief Lending Officer & Assistant Treasurer for MAFCU, where he developed a top performing Mortgage Lending Unit (adding FHA, Construction, Reverse Mortgages and other programs), while serving on the Leadership Team, Asset/Liability Committee, Quality Control Committee (formed and Chaired by him) and the Strategic Planning Team.

During his tenure with MAFP/MAFCU he has been interviewed by Credit Union Times, CU Management and other publications, in addition to which he has been asked to speak at events sponsored by the MD/DC Credit Union League, the Alliance of Credit Unions and others.

Matthew M. Jones

Having over 13 years of underwriting experience, Matthew Jones is an expert in the underwriting and credit approval process. Holding positions as Senior Credit Under-Writer with a few reputable financial institutions, Mr. Jones comes to us fully prepared to handle all of our credit decision needs. He has extensive knowledge in credit analysis and personal tax accounting making him a crucial asset to our team.

Matthew specializes in many loan types, not limited to SBA 7(a), SBA 504, Cap Lines and Conventional/Investment financing. Utilizing software platforms and a fine tuned credit analysis process, Mr. Jones has attained a 97% credit decision approval rating. Matthew has deep educational background in business administration and accounting, with knowledge in Operational Management, Statistical Analysis and Information Technology. He has earned a B.S in Business Administration and Accounting, as well as an M.S in Business Administration.

Robert Edwards

Robert Edwards is a multi-disciplined banker with over 30 years experience, including management, consumer lending, retail banking, commercial lending, ABL lending, commercial real estate lending and SBA lending.

He is a veteran small business lender with more than 25 years experience and $250 million in funded loans to small businesses. His loans have assisted more than 800 businesses in the retention and/or formation of more than 6,500 jobs in the small business community. In addition, he is a commercial income producing commercial real estate lender with more than 10 years experience and over $300 million in funded commercial real estate loan transactions.

Robert is currently, Vice President of Funds Management with Mid-Atlantic Financial Partners, LLC, which is a credit union service organization (CUSO). In this position, he is responsible for locating viable commercial loan participation opportunities, creating and maintaining a network of credit unions and other lenders that may have an interest in them and ultimately syndicating the participations. To date, he has increased Credit Union and Bank participations by 150%. Robert holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Maryland UC.

Stella Smith

With 10 years of experience as a Credit Analyst, Stella has had much success at analyzing and managing business loans, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies. She has overseen and managed the underwriting of many SBA loans, commercial loans, and warehouse lines-of-credit, including new money and line modifications. Being in the field and consulting with many members of senior management regarding loan structuring eligibility, Ms. Smith has worked with numerous borrowers, brokers, CPA’s, attorneys, and business developers. She has held key positions at PNC Bank, Fidelity Bank, and Wells Fargo.

Stella currently holds a Bachelor of Science in History and Political Science as well as a Masters in Business Administration. She is a veteran of the United States Army.

Minta Branham

Minta has a diverse background in the commercial banking and finance; with over 30 years of experience and knowledge at her disposal. This ultimately gives her strong lending skills with emphasis on Commercial and SBA Loan origination, Commercial Loan Under-writing, Loan Structuring and Portfolio Management.

Minta has held various positions in the financial field, serving as Vice President for several banks, including Wachovia and Citi Bank. She has managed over $60 million in an active loan portfolio, helped generate over $10 million, annually, of new SBA and Commercial Loans, and developed creative loan strategies; which helped facilitate growth in stale loan portfolios. She has also gained experience selling government guaranteed loans on the secondary market. Minta has served as a consultant; helping buyers engaged in business acquisitions alleviate financial challenges. Ms. Branham has also worked as principal, consulting for several privately owned companies.

Minta has an educational background rooted in Business and Finance; with both a B.S. in Business Administration and Finance, and an M.A. in Business Management. Not limited to just her degrees; she also has completed additional studies in Commercial Lending and Credit analysis.

Regina Dews

Regina joined Mid-Atlantic Financial Partners, LLC as Closing Administrator in February 2009, bringing with her extensive experience in packaging and closing small business and commercial real estate transactions.

Prior to joining the Mid-Atlantic team, Regina spent over ten years in various closing positions with national non-bank and bank lenders. She was AVP/Loan Closing Specialist with Business Loan Express, LLC in Washington, DC; Closing Officer with PNC Bank, N.A., in Columbia, MD; and Senior Loan Closer with Banco Popular North America in Washington, DC.

Over fourteen years of experience, a talent for accurately managing information, and an eye for details have resulted in Regina developing a well-founded level of expertise in the packaging and closing of small business and commercial real estate transactions.
